Having Hope

HHmain

In February 2008 my stepfather Alan Stuart was diagnosed with cancer. I was living half-way around the world at the time and felt there was little I could do in support, however, I could knit, and with the Australian winter approaching a pair of cosy socks seemed the perfect project. The pattern is available in three sizes, medium women’s to large men’s, and is knitted toe-up in The Knittery wool/cashmere blend sock yarn. Visit the Ravelry pattern page for more details.

The Having Hope Project started simply with this sock pattern but has grown into something much bigger. There are KALs on the web and we are planning a fundraising auction.

All proceeds from the sales of the Having Hope pattern, and any other funds raised, are sent to fund Cancer Research in Australia and around the world. Pattern sales have reached 102 copies and we have raised £250 so far.
